What’s In Party Pills?
If you have been a part of the party scene for a while, you may have noticed the preponderance of what are known as party pills. These products are marketed primarily to the party crowd, who more often than not need something to add a little more life to the festivities.
Before you pass judgment on party pills and their users, you should be aware of a few important things about them first. For one thing, they remain legal in many parts of the world, although with the recent banning of party pills in the United States, this situation may not last for very long.
Secondly, although party pills can result in a number of psychoactive effects, they cannot be lumped in with illicit drugs from a legal or pharmaceutical point of view. We have already gone into the legal aspect of party pills, and it is clear that although illegal in the United States and possibly in some other countries soon, there are some countries wherein their use remains well within the boundaries of law. And the ingredients of party pills, although psychoactive to some degree, have nowhere near the potency of illegal drugs. That being said, party pills can be pretty powerful and effective substances, and due care must be taken when indulging in them.
But what is it in party pills that cause users to experience their results? The answer to that lies in two substances: BZP and TFMMP.
BZP or Benzylpiperazine and TFMPP or Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine are two ingredients most commonly present in party pills. Such products are also erroneously marketed as ‘herbal pills’, although there is certainly nothing herbal about them. While such party pills may contain a number of natural ingredients, these are not present in sufficient enough amounts to cause a noticeable reaction, unlike the two aforementioned substances.
In addition to BZP and TFMMP, many party pills also contain natural ingredients such as Piper Nigrum or black pepper extract, Phenylalanine, Tryptophan, and Tyrosine. All of these substances affect the body to some degree, and while they may be totally safe when taken individually, when combined in products such as party pills, they can produce quite a different result. In fact, it is this combination that makes party pills so effective–or depending how you look at it, risky–which means that such products should definitely not be taken indiscriminately.
You should also be aware that there are people for whom party pills are simply not a good idea. This would include people who suffer from any type of heart condition or those who have some degree of liver impairment. And as with all other medications, consultation with a doctor prior to use would be for the better.
